Munich, July 29th 2014 – This September, the third edition of Blancpain Nürburgring 1000 will coincide with the premiere of SimRacingEXPO, being held on 20 and 21 of the month. This special event provides a unique mixture of real racing action and virtual motorsports at the same location – the famous Nürburgring.
The SimRacingEXPO gives a wide range of exhibitors the opportunity to show off their new virtual racing trends along the ring°boulevard. Marc Hennerici, head of the Sport & Events department of ADAC Mittelrhein e.V., says: “We have already managed to gain some leading companies for the event through custom-made sponsorship packages and exhibition options. The spectrum ranges from steering wheels and current console and PC games to simulators for racing teams. There is something for everyone – beginners and pros alike.” At the exhibitors’ stands, virtual racers have the chance to meet experienced professional racing drivers, who will also be taking to the actual race track. Drivers and engineers can learn all about the latest innovations in the industry, while visitors can discover interesting products and try out the latest racing games. Meanwhile, various racing events will be taking place in the ring°arena, and the club°lounge provides the perfect setting for drivers, exhibitors and their guests to come together. At the same time, the Blancpain Endurance Series will be taking place at the Nürburgring for the third time, showcasing and celebrating a huge variety of sports car legends. Spectators can look forward to exciting races, an exclusive starting field, and dream sports cars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley and more.
Last year, around 11,000 visitors and over 1,000 journalists attended Blancpain Nürburgring 1000 – a number that is expected to increase this year with the addition of SimRacingEXPO.
