The SimRacingEXPO 2014 agenda

Highlights of the first SimRacing trade fair

Munich, 18 September 2014 – Just two days to go until the opening of the first SimRacingEXPO, taking place at the Nürburgring alongside the Blancpain Endurance Series iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000! True to the slogan “virtual racing meets real racing”, the trade fair will present the latest developments in virtual motorsports at the same location as the real-life racing events. Here are a few of the highlights that visitors to the SimRacingEXPO can look forward to:

As soon as the doors to the event open on Saturday at 9 a.m., visitors can start taking part in the qualifiers for the ADAC SimRacing Trophy competition on Saturday evening. Those who have already qualified online can use the time to get in some free practice. Throughout the day, successive exhibitors will be presenting their simulators and games on the main stage, almost all of which can be tested by visitors. Both amateurs and professionals can look forward to trying out various devices and technology – from games such as iRacing, RaceRoom or PlayStation’s Driveclub to simulators from manufacturers including D-Box and Vesaro or Ellip6. From 4 p.m. onwards, all those who couldn’t make it to the Nürburgring will be able to follow the event live via an online stream at http://www.nr1000.de/deutsch/live-stream/. This stream will also broadcast the semi-final and final of the first ADAC SimRacing Trophy competition – a particular highlight that will see amateur sim racers compete against professional racing drivers.

Those looking for real racing action should make their way to the Nürburgring race track on Saturday for the qualifiers of the Blancpain Endurance Series races, iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000. Visitors who have always dreamed of completing a lap of the famous circuit themselves – even if only as a passenger – should head to the Sony PlayStation stand and compete for the opportunity to win a drive around the ring in an SLS AMG. The competition will be open to visitors all day.

Of course, the SimRacingEXPO is also open for visitors on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. when, as well as the fair, another Blancpain Endurance Series iRacing.com Nürburgring 1000 race will be taking place on the Nürburgring from 11:45 a.m. to approximately 5:45 p.m.
Entry to the SimRacingEXPO is free of charge.
